After starting at BBC radio in Leeds, Lis Howell became a TV reporter, presenter and producer, going on to be managing editor of Sky News. She was the shortlived first Director of Programmes for GMTV, before a very public parting of the ways, and is now Director of Programmes for UK Living, the cable and satellite channel.
