. . .a powerful novel . . . for those interested in law or politics, it is a must-read (The List)

Praise for A TIME FOR JUSTICE:

Anonymous's searing indictment of the criminal justice system, lawyers and politicians is woven around true stories. . . this is a powerful, interesting novel, which will earn the author few friends among the legal establishment, but many among those who enjoy a good read. (Yorkshire Post)

'The touch of an insider is undeniable' Belfast Telegraph (Aug '97)

'Anon denounces the liberal values of "potty pinkos"' Guardian

'This is a bad and nasty book' The Times

'laced with sex, scandal and law officers suspected of doing nasty things ... you will quickly recognise 1996. No wonder the author is anonymous' Law Society Gazette

'Not a book to be reading if you're a lone female travelling home on the tube late at night ... all in all interesting reading, the only problem is that it could very easily be true.' The Law Librarian

'required reading by the more liberal wing [...] This is a depressing book but a valuable one in the message it contains about reform of the justice system.' Peter Allen, Wolverhampton Express & Star (July '97)
(amongst others - also Liam Christopher, Liverpool Evening Post)

'as an uncompromising, right-wing polemic by someone who knows the idiocies of the Youth Court system better than the back of his or her own hand, it contains messages of unpalatable and frightening truth' Frances Fyfield, Mail on Sunday (July '97)

Présentation de l'éditeur

Why does Jenny Glendower choose to walk out of her hotel, alone at night, in the notoriously dangerous red-light district of London? What yearning propels this schoolteacher from the West Country, mother of two, to abandon every lesson of prudence? When a gang of youths closes round her on the streets, Jenny realises too late that she is a target not only for robbery, but worse.

Oliver Rawl and his partner, Sarah Woods, both legal-aid solicitors, legally represent the most evil of the cynical youths who have taken Jenny captive. One of them still walks free as the notorious murderer of a Headmaster. Jenny has been in love with Oliver for many years, but she remains innocent of the painful conflict between professional duty and private sentiment that will gradually destroy Oliver's relationship with Sarah.
