The importance of statistics stems from its usefulness. This new edition of a best-selling text covers all parts of the A level statistics syllabus, and is a perfect choice as an introductory textbook for students at universities taking a first year course in statistics. Extra topics covered in this new edition are acceptance sampling, multiple regression and an entirely new chapter on looking at data. The authors have revised the whole book, adding more exercises and checking that all areas of the standard statistics syllabus are covered. Since computer power has increased so much at this level, there are useful references to computer based methods throughout.
