Synopsis

This Standard Grade Science textbook is aimed at pupils working at lower levels of ability who tend to take the integrated science option. The book has been divided into four colour-coded sections to correspond with the four parts of the Scottish Standard Grade syllabus: Healthy and Safe Living, An Introduction to Materials, Energy and Its Uses, and A Study of Environments. The sections are divided into chapters which are further subdivided into double-page spreads. Each spread contains a "Wordbank" to explain new or difficult terms, a "Factfile" which summarizes the main points given on the spread, and a number of short answer questions to enable pupils to test that they have understood the material covered. At the end of the major sections there are a number of exam questions, to ensure that pupils are familiar with the style of question by the time they take their final exam.
