Synopsis
The Bates method aims to improve sight naturally, to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses, to be effective when glasses are not, to help in the curing of eye diseases and to improve reading and learning ability. Its application of the principles of holistic health to eyesight, through relaxation and improved eye-brain co-ordination, has been used in work on brain function. Outlining the history and development of the Bates method, this book explains its theories and applications, explains how to find a Bates teacher and what to expect, and identifies particular conditions and how to deal with them. The author teaches both the Bates method and the Alexander technique.
