The sinusoidal pressure calibrator uses an electrodynamic shaker (vibration generator) to vibrate a column of liquid. A pressure transducer at the base of the tube senses the varying pressure. The transducer can also be statically calibrated in the device, allowing for precise correlation between static and dynamic calibrations. The calibrator can generate pressures of up to 134 kN/mz peak-to-peak over a frequency range of 15 Hz to 2000 Hz. The author provides a theoretical investigation that confirms the experimental results. The book also includes data on the effects of parameter variations on calibrator performance, such as liquid column height, diameter, and damping characteristics.
