Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book seeks to determine whether social evolution can be guided or perhaps predicted by the evolution of knowledge and how ignorance of a subject can be overcome by the 'awakening' of reason. The author contends that all social organisation is composed of two elements: the state of knowledge about law and the organisation of property. These two elements must be in harmony with each other, and the organisation of property must always be subordinate to the state of knowledge about law. If this is not the case, the result is social chaos. The author maintains that there are only two types of states of knowledge about law: ignorance and a knowledge of true law. And that the knowledge of true law can only come after the awakening of reason, which in turn brings with it the possibility of true social organisation. The author concludes that any social organisation which is not based on the knowledge of true law is ultimately doomed to failure.
