Biographie de l'auteur
Maurice Sendak was born in Brooklyn, New York. He began by illustrating other authors' books for children, but the first book that he both wrote and illustrated was Kenny's Window, published in 1956. In his lifetime, he illustrated over 80 books, and received many awards, including the 1964 Caldecott Medal for Where the Wild Things Are. In 1970 he was the first American to win the Hans Christian Andersen Illustrator's Medal. He passed away in May 2012.

Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small marks, few small (largest approx. 1cm) tears, patchy creasing/rubbing to edges, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, a little pushing/bumping to corners, the odd spot of foxing, a little patchy rubbing to top (picture) surface, patchy browning/odd small marks/mild foxing to reverse (white side) and is in only good condition. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners, the odd small mark and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages slightly tanned. Odd small mark/spots of foxing to top edge of pages. Very occasional small mark to pages. No other faults.
