Wren with a black ballpoint pen on the front free endpaper. Opposite the autograph on the front paste down is the stamp of Lincoln Book Shop in Lincoln City, OR where the author once worked part-time and which she used as the setting for the fictional store in her books. A cat's paw is stamped at the foot of the paste down with a handwritten label of Tai (Meg), the feline character in the novels. So, this copy possesses the features desired by collectors of Wren's books featuring bookseller and PI Conan Flagg. Beige boards and binding with white end papers and black titles. The book is tight with sharp corners. The heel of the spine has softened. No markings by a previous owner. The jacket is crisp and price intact, and the front cover of the yellow jacket is unaffected by the sun. There is a soft but lengthy vertical crease in the front panel and the front flap. The spine of the jacket is lightly sunned. A pleasing copy despite these blemishes and a scarcely found bibliomystery.
