Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Photographs (illustrateur). 1st Edition. THEY CAME FROM OUTER SPACE presents a new and unique approach to the science fiction anthology. Jim Wynorski, Hollywood special-effects wizard, has collected twelve exciting tales of the imagination that were all transformed into spectacular motion pictures. These stories, many of which are out-of-print collector's items, were written by some of today's finest science fiction writers. Arthur C. Clarke, Harlan Ellison, Robert Sheckley, and others are included in this anthology, as well as Ray Bradbury, who, in writing a special introduction, gives you an inside glimpse at how science fiction is translated from the written word into films. Here are the original stories behind such movies as The Fly, Dr. Cyclops, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Thing From Another World, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and other classics that had us gripping our chairs in the movie theaters. With over fifty rare stills from the movies and a brief retrospective look at the cast, credits, stars, and crew, this collection brings to life those exciting and innovative science fiction films we all grew up on. This is a rare opportunity to read quality science fiction and enjoy its visual interpretations. Many of these films were starting points in the careers of some of today's most successful producers, directors, special-effects artists and actors. Such names as Joseph E. Levine, Carlo Ponti, Stanley Kubrick, Sylvester Stallone, Patricia Neal, Jason Robards, Keir Dullea, and James Arness are to be found within these pages. So sit back and enjoy the best in the science fiction genre while you go down movie memory lane. All that's missing is the popcorn! All orders shipped protected in a box. Slight bumping to spine, and a bit of wear at top and bottom of dust jacket. Book. N° de réf. du vendeur 001020
