Outer edge of the pages are deckled. 240 pages, eight chapters. Root was a key man in the Willkie nomination in 1940 and the first chapter in the work is entitled"Wendell Willkie-The Great Crusade"; followed by a Chapter on World War II years. In addition there are sketches of the New York public figures of the era-Dewey, Rockefeller, Lindsay, and Javits. Root's book is a valuable addition to history. There is just a slight touch of wear at the head & tail of the spine and at corners of the cover. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality cover. Dj is not price-clipped. The dj shows slight wear in the same spots as the book cover. Interior of book is clean and binding is tight. Maybe read once lightly or not at all.
