Soft cover. Etat : Near Fine. No Jacket. Paul Rocheleau (illustrateur). This book is in near fine condition. There are corner knocks and the edges show some wear but there are no tears or stains. This book is the story of the ship that brought the settlers to Jamestown. It revisits the history and art of wooden shipbuilding. The book begins with the story of the landing of the Susan Constant in Jamestown in 1607. In 1957 replicas of the three original ships were built but by the 1980's they needed to be replaced. New productions of the Godspeed and the Discovery were launched in 1984. In 1989 the keel of the new Susan Constant was laid down. The rest of the book describes the rebuilding of the ship and how it would have originally been built. Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit environmental restoration and education.
