Synopsis

Vascular imaging technologies are developing rapidly. New information which is being acquired using these techniques is redefining our understanding of the etiology, development and distribution of lesions and will be used in the future to guide interventions and to evaluate the success of procedures. Although arteriography remains the gold standard for determining patency and continuity of vessels, several other imaging technologies have assumed increasingly important roles in diagnosis and therapy of vascular diseases.
