Synopsis
This three-volume work provides coverage of the multi-disciplinary subject machine vision engineering (MVE). Throughout the work, the author has attempted to achieve a balance between theory and practice and, wherever possible, to integrate the two. All aspects of the machine vision system, from optics to project management, are discussed and the integrating of components and concepts emphasized. Written from a systems engineering perspective, this is not a compendium of all MVE research, but a single self-consistent exposition on the field. Volume 1 deals with image acquisition, volume 2 discusses image processing and volume 3 addresses machine vision systems. Machine vision is a technology being adopted worldwide in all manufacturing industries.
