Horst Siebert is President of the Kiel Institute of World Economics, Professor of Theoretical Economics at the University of Kiel, and Member of the German of Economic Advisers (the 'five wise men'). He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Australian National University, the European University Institute, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Resources for the Future (Washington DC), the University of Aberdeen, University of California Riverside and the University of New Mexico. He is the author of many papers and books, including The New Economic Landscape in Europe (1991) and Economics of the Environment (1998).
