Thomas Kinkade was an American painter whose art often emphasized simple pleasures and inspirational messages. His goal as an artist was to touch people of all faiths and to bring peace and joy into their lives through the images he created. Known as the Painter of Light, his artwork hangs in an estimated one out of twenty American homes.

Katherine Spencer was a fiction editor before turning to a full-time career as a writer. The author of more than 20 books for both children and adults, including Thomas Kinkade's Cape Light series, she lives with her husband and daughter in a small village on the Long Island Sound, very much like Cape Light.
