Synopsis
An exploration of the world community. The citizenship curriculum of 2002 aims to create informed citizens by enabling pupils to play an effective role in society. This volume is part of a series which examines the institutions, rights and responsibilities that underpin our lives in the UK and relates them to the experience of the reader. Each title looks at a different aspect of our society, and provides: case studies to help the reader understand his or her own position as a citizen of a modern, multicultural society; ideas for further research; and hints on how readers can get involved in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.
