Synopsis

"Storybox Activities" offer literacy packs for the three to five year olds. The pack contains a book of activity ideas based on a Scholastic paperback story book, which is included together with an A2 poster depicting characters from the story. The stories have a particular appeal for the 3-5 age range and should provide lots of opportunities for linking with popular themes. All the activity ideas are based on the Early Learning Goals and should provide broad coverage of the early years curriculum. "Big Panda, Little Panda" tells of a problem facing many young children - the birth of a new baby in the family. Big Panda finds that Mum can no longer give him all the attention he used to have but in the end realizes that it can be fun to have a new play-mate. The activities in the book include looking at names, making paw prints for counting, thinking about feelings and going on a "Panda playtime" obstacle course.
