Timothy Rasinski, professor emeritus at Kent State University, is a leading expert in reading fluency with over 250 articles and 50+ books to his name, including The Fluent Reader and The Megabook of Fluency. His research has been widely published and cited by major literacy organizations, earning him numerous accolades, including induction into the International Reading Hall of Fame and recognition as one of the world’s top 2% of scientists. A former classroom teacher, Rasinski brings decades of experience to his work supporting struggling readers.


Dr. Timothy Rasinski is a Professor of Education in the Department of Teaching, Leadership, and Curriculum Studies. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in literacy education. His major interests include working with children who find reading difficult, phonics and reading fluency instruction, and teacher development in literacy education. He has published over 100 articles and 10 books on various aspects of reading education.
