Variously tough and poetic... Lieberman possesses a warm and genuine curiousity.” Los Angeles Times “They Call It Myanmar” is a thing of beauty... its cinematography, music and contemplative words make it... a hymn to a land that has grown out of the oldest cultures in Asia. A notable and often heartbreaking documentary.” -The Hollywood Reporter “Quietly startling moments... They Call It Myanmar is a solid and subtly moving portrait of the people of Burma by filmmaker Robert H. Lieberman... The level of fear is palpable. Lieberman manages to capture the country’s beauty, along with the proud perseverance of its people. -The Washington Post “Robert H. Lieberman's exceptional, truthful and exciting documentary . . . a documentary with all the virtues of a great feature film. . . . He has succeeded brilliantly.” - San Francisco Examiner
Best-selling novelist and award-winning film director Robert H. Lieberman takes us to Creatoria— the city below Earth’s devastated surface. In the eight generations since the last and final war, humankind has moved closer— thanks to genetic engineering— to perfection in every way. That was what Detective Creally Leemling had been taught, even though he was only a Nearly Perfect. And he believed it— until he witnessed things no Perfect could imagine still existed. A mystery on earth’s surface leads this futuristic detective to a mind-shattering discovery, a beautiful young woman and a desperate plan to escape perfection… and survive. Publishers Weekly - "Suspenseful narrative and unusually sharp, evocative visual sense that speeds."

Or are they? It's a society where reproduction has long since been taken out of the hands of humans, where "boy-springs" and "girl-springs" are developed in a "Hatchery," and sexual pleasure is provided by "flanking"machines. . . .Enter detective Creally Leemling, a Nearly Perfect, created in his Maker's image, but not perfect - still human enough to doubt, to probe dangerously close to the ultimate secret of Creatoria - to dare desire a woman his world said did not, must not, could not exist. . . .We meet Wendy - an Imperfect. She was born, not made, a beautiful vibrant creature filled with passions and pain - a wonderful exotic sexual being - a real, not ideal, woman risking capture and death for one last love. . . .And there is Weems - a Perfect. Tall and imposing, Weems is a triumph of genetic engineering. Powerful as a god and lacking all physical human flaws - which made it easy for him to lie, scheme, and commit cold-blooded murder - he is the possessor of a shocking secret. . .
