Synopsis
This is the fourth edition of the book previously entitled "Essentials of Obstetrics and Gynaecology". The previous editions tried to present basic clinical material in a concise and readable form and to encourage a sense of discrimination in the arrangement of facts. The present edition has been revised and, without increasing in bulk, covers more subjects than the previous ones. An introductory account of anatomy and physiology relevant to obstetrics and gynaecology has been added and much additional clinical material has been introduced. Obsolete ideas have been excised. To assist further those readers who come new to the subjects of obstetrics and gynaecology, there is a glossary.
