Synopsis

This volume is the result of the ESPRIT Technical Week 1984 held in Brussels, Belgium, under the auspices of the Information Technology and Telecommunications Task Force of the Commission of the European Communities. It is designed to report on technical progress made during the ESPRIT pilot year, to disseminate this information to a very wide audience, and finally to provide the readers with a state-of-the-art review of European R & D work within the five major areas of ESPRIT around which the volume is structured.
