This first volume of the Adages in the Amsterdam edition of the Latin texts of Erasmus gives a general introduction to the Adages in German, as well as a critical edition of the Latin text of the first half of the first thousand Adages.

Edwin Rabbie, Ph.D. (1986) in Classics, University of Amsterdam, LL.M. (1994), Leiden University, is justice in the district court of The Hague. He has published critical editions of Hugo Grotius and other Neo-Latin authors.
