The fourth book in the Vic Daniel-series. Got a problem? Unload it on the sagging shoulders of Vic Daniel, who at 6’7" is not taller than your average detective but twice as eccentric. Ignore the superficial: he’s wearing a loud Hawaiian shirt, driving a classic pink-and-blue Nash Metropolitan, and sharing an apartment with his mom. Notice instead his finely honed principles: rushing to the aid of a childhood friend regardless of the consequences. Which could be dire given that Vic’s buddy is in a high-security Mexican hoosegow and the federales have no real affection for gringo smugglers or their would-be liberators. Nevertheless, when difficulty – and money – are no object, Vic can come up with a scheme. Soon Vic and his cohorts are off to the Yucatán for a do-it-yourself jailbreak. Will their plan succeed? Is the Pope you-know-what? Find out for yourselves, amigos…
David M Pierce has pursued the typical career path of the aspiring private-eye writer - aluminum company slave, furniture salesman, reporter, truck driver, magazine salesman, stage manager, actor, bartender and hatcheck girl. He has also written lyrics for Alice Cooper, Chad 'n Jeremy and John Entwhistle and co-wrote and acted in the musical comedy 'Captain Crash vs. the Zorg Woman, Parts 5 & 6'. He is the author of three previous Vic Daniel mysteries: 'Down in the Valley', 'Hear the Wind Blow , Dear...' and 'Roses Love Sunshine', as well as and 'Write Me a Letter' and 'As She Rides By' which follow on from 'Angels in Heaven' in the series. Born in Montreal, David M Pierce spent years in London and Los Angeles before settling in Paris.
