Hardcover. Etat : Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. First Edition (Number Line to 1). Once listed, this will be the Only signed copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. On the first front end paper is written 'December, 1976, To Phyl, With lots and lots of affection, Bruce'. As you can see from the photos, the covers are in excellent condition exceptionally clean and free of wear. The book is square and straight, very solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are exceptionally clean. There is one speck-sized spot on the middle page edge. It can be seen just barely peeking over the edge of three or four pages in the book. I didn't see any creasing or dogeared corners. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There is a little bit of shadowing and spotting on the inside covers and first and last end papers, a little more on the signed first end paper (see photo). 'Bruce Mazlish (September 15, 1923 - November 27, 2016) was an American historian who was a professor in the Department of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His work focused on historiography and philosophy of history, history of science and technology, artificial intelligence, history of the social sciences, the two cultures and bridging the humanities and sciences (natural and social), revolution, psychohistory, history of globalization and the history of global citizenship. He has worked to build the latter two into a public intellectual movement, through initiatives such as the New Global History conferences. He wrote psychohistorical biographies on Richard Nixon (written at the time of the Watergate hearings, and receiving wide popular attention and acclaim), Henry Kissinger, and James and John Stuart Mill.'.
