Introducing theory and procedures necessary for the design and development of information systems, this book is geared for courses in information systems. Divided into three parts: Part I introduces information systems theory and establishes that any information system may be thought of as a set of six building blocks; Part II treats each of these building blocks separately; and Part III treats systems development methodology: how to design and put the pieces together. The book is loaded with examples, figures, questions, exercises, problems and case studies. The cloth edition of this book was published in May 1986.
