About the authors JAE K. SHIM, PhD, is a California real estate broker who also runs a Department of Real Estate-approved school called The National Business Review Foundation. A prolific author, Dr. Shim has forty books to his credit and has published nearly fifty articles in prestigious economic and financial journals. Dr. Shim has received a Ford Foundation Award, a Mellon Research Fellowship, and an Arthur Andersen Research Grant. JOEL G. SIEGEL, PhD, CPA, is Professor of Accounting and Finance at Queens College. He specializes in real estate accounting and finance. Dr. Siegel is the author or coauthor of fortytwo books and nearly two hundred published articles on finance and economics topics. He is also a former chairperson of the National Oversight Board. STEPHEN W. HARTMAN, PhD, is Professor of Management at New York Institute of Technology and a consultant to business, government, and the military. He is the author of seven books, twenty-six articles, a Harvard case study, and numerous research reports. Dr. Hartman has been a real estate salesperson in Florida and New York.
