Practical advice concerning choice of separation process is also given. Energy considerations and the role of economics in undertaking separations are discussed. Close to 60 per cent of the material is reprinted; 30 percent is substantially revised or completely new.

DOUGLAS M. RUTHVEN, PhD, is Professor and Chair of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Maine. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, he is the author or coauthor of three books on adsorption and adsorption separation processes, all published by Wiley.
