About the Author Joe Stephenson, PhD, CSP, PMP, has managed safety and training programs for two international construction companies and for a major Department of Energy prime contractor. He has spent much of his professional career developing and teaching safety-related programs. Dr. Stephenson has created and taught courses and workshops worldwide for NASA, the National Safety Council, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, the Department of Energy, The Arabian American Oil Company, private industry and three universities. Dr. Stephenson is a Certified Safety Professional in the areas of system safety, engineering, management, product safety, comprehensive practice and construction safety. He is also a certified Project Management Professional and a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He is a member of the System Safety Society and was their 1991 Educator of the Year. Dr. Stephenson is currently the West Coast Regional Manager for COBRO Corporation, an employee-owned company specializing in leading edge safety education and training.
