A commodity is an agricultural product, mineral, or other tangible asset that investors trade on a cash or futures basis. Each commodity is traded on its own exchange and some at general exchanges such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prices for each commodity are set by a combination of factors including weather, supply and demand, and historical trading patterns. This work contains both historical information and pricing/trading patterns on a monthly and annual basis and offers readers the opportunity to compare over 100 domestic and international commodities. It includes three articles on "hot" commodities-orientated, and disks which contain historical and updated data, are available throughout the year.
