Synopsis
This is the first text for structural engineers to integrate fully the ingenious specializations of classical methods with the analytical power of modern matrix methods. It presents classical formulations of fundamental concepts of analysis, then recasts them into a matrix format. This unified treatment reveals that many of the classical approaches are special cases of the more general matrix techniques. Each chapter contains a bibliography and problems. The previous edition of this book for mechanical and civil engineering students was published in 1980.
