Synopsis
This introduction to the use of computer aided design in the architect's office emphasizes the use of AutoCAD, but is written for easy application to many other micro-based CAD software systems. Both procedure and design are covered, including 3-D modelling, detailing and office practice. An overview of CAD basics, including vocabulary, is provided and design strategies and the prospects for a fully automated architectural workplace and its implications for the profession are discussed.
