Synopsis
This book comprises a collection of papers directed towards improving the management of day-case patients presenting both the anaesthetist's and surgeon's point of view regarding anaesthetic agents and analgesics and ways of reducing post-anaesthetic morbidity. Contributions from psychopharmacologists consider the effects of premedication, analgesics and anaesthetic agents on memory, psychomotor and intellectual function and draw attention to the use of tests, particularly in the assessment of post- operative sedation.
