Synopsis
This revised and updated revision of a classic text presents a volume of programmes on mathematics which covers much of a course written for undergraduate science and engineering students in universities and colleges throughout the world. Emphasizing the practical side of the subject, rather than the theory, "Mathematics for Engineers and Scientists" comprises 5 units and covers work usually presented in the first years of study. Programmes on allied topics are grouped together in each unit and although mathematical rigour has not always been emphasized in the programmes, the text can serve as an introduction for students intending to continue their studies in mathematics.
