Synopsis
This book presents a comprehensive collection of practical exercises in genetics for use by teachers and lecturers in schools, colleges, polytechnics and universities in planning their courses, and by undergraduate students wishing to carry out their own practical experiments. All of the experiments described have been well tried and tested by the authors, who have had many years of classroom experience. In addition to the details of the exercises, each chapter contains relevant background information and suggestions for analysis and interpretation of results. An appendix lists sources of experimental material and gives brief instructions on fundamental techniques such as the use of the microscope, safe handling of micro-organisms and statistical analyses of experimental results.
