Incorporating the results of the Voyager 2 encounter with Uranus in January 1986, this study explores our present knowledge of the planet. The Voyager results described include the discovery of Uranus's highly unusual magnetic field, its rotation period, ten new satellites, two new rings, and a bizarre topography on the surface of the satellite Mimas. Tables summarizing the satellite and ring systems are provided, together with a comparison of the magnetic fields of other planets in the Solar System. The text is illustrated with Voyager-obtained images of Uranus and its satellites and rings.
