Synopsis
This volume studies the nature of architectural influences across political, physical, and cultural boundaries. It examines conditions in Latin America where physical barriers have been placed in order to attempt to prevent cross fertilization, which has had a specific influence on the built environment. Within America there are borderlands between cities and deserts; these "edge" environments have particular solutions and are also featured in this volume.
