Synopsis

The Mansion Rats are a very posh family who enjoy a life of comfort inside a spotless, well-kept mansion. Everything runs smoothly — until the youngest rat, Poppy, develops a rather embarrassing problem that threatens to reveal the family’s secret life behind the walls.

As suspicious messes appear where they least belong, panic spreads through the household. While the confident butler believes he has everything under control, the rats scramble to contain the situation before their luxurious lifestyle comes crashing down.

The Mansion Rats is a bold, laugh-out-loud picture book filled with cheeky toilet humour, playful rhyming text, and mischievous animal characters. Perfect for children who love silly stories, it offers plenty of giggles while exploring family teamwork and the consequences of too much comfort.

Ideal for shared reading with children who enjoy humorous, slightly naughty stories that don’t take themselves too seriously.

À propos de l?auteur

The author has brought to life the charming New Zealand Character 'Riwi the Kiwi' who transports children aged 3-8 on three fun learning adventures. Subsequently, she has written four more hilarious children's stories: Bad Nana, The Mansion Rats, Lilla Gorilla, and There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shed. Apart from Bad Nana, the stories are rhyming, which the author has been told is a dying art. Throughout her teenage and adult years she wrote limericks in birthday cards for friends and family; usually corny and sometimes a bit rude, but always achieved the intended effect - a laugh from the recipient. Lilla Nicholas-Holt lives in New Zealand's far north, and has three adult children and two grandchildren.
