The pamphlet made as great an impression as could have been wished, and the principal persons in New castle seemed disposed to meet and ition Parlia ment immediately; but a leader was wanting: no per son seemed willing to do any thing but second. It was thought that some country gentleman ought to take the chair. Parliament, however, had assem bled; most of the gentlemen were out of the county, and none that remained seemed willing to do so except one, and he afterwards declined.
