Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book chronicles the life of Emanuel Swedenborg, an 18th-century Swedish scientist and theologian whose religious writings continue to inspire followers of the New Church. Born in 1688, Swedenborg had a successful career in science and academia, with notable contributions to the fields of anatomy, geology, and metallurgy. However, a spiritual awakening in 1745 led to a profound shift in his life's trajectory. Swedenborg claimed to experience visions, speak with angels, and visit heaven and hell. His writings, based on these experiences, sought to reveal the spiritual meaning of the Bible and provide insights into the nature of God, the afterlife, and the human soul. Swedenborg's ideas were often at odds with established religious orthodoxy, and he faced criticism for his unconventional beliefs. However, his writings have garnered a dedicated following over the centuries, and his teachings on spirituality and the unseen world continue to resonate with those seeking a deeper understanding of life's mysteries. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
