Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book examines the historical reality behind the legends of the Amazons, warrior women who ruled over a female-only society and fought fiercely against their enemies. The author challenges the prevailing scholarly consensus that the Amazons were purely mythical figures, arguing instead that they were a real people who existed in ancient times. Drawing on a wide range of sources, including ancient texts, archaeological evidence, and modern research, the author pieces together a fascinating and detailed portrait of these enigmatic women. The book explores the Amazons' origins, their military strategies, their social and political organization, and their cultural practices. It also examines the ways in which the Amazons have been represented in art, literature, and popular culture throughout history. Ultimately, the book argues that the Amazons were a complex and extraordinary society that challenges our assumptions about gender roles and the nature of warfare.
