Synopsis

This unique book presents hundreds of authentic royalty-free paisley designs rendered in black-and-white, ready for artists and craftspersons to incorporate into graphic and textile designs and other creative projects.
The designs, each bearing the essential characteristics of traditional paisley patterns, range in size from small individual cones, each barely one inch high, to designs that fill an entire page. They include medallions, borders, and detailed close-ups of highly complex designs as well.
Paisley designs are named for the richly patterned motifs associated with shawls made in Paisley, Scotland, which were once the rage of Victorian England. Paisley shawls were actually less costly adaptations of "cashmeres" imported from India's valley of Kashmir, where the intricately beautiful designs originated. With the design elements in this book, you will carry on a centuries-old patterning tradition that remains today a favorite worldwide.
