First published in England in 1924 this US edition represents an "abridged, slightly corrected republication." The full page colour frontis from the 1924 issue is here repeated inside the front cover, as are all the 124 plates from the original, in a section at the back. The 62 page historical introduction includes numerous sketches by the author, then follows 16 pages with notes on the models illustrated. The 124 models are presented in b/w photos, the vast majority one image to a page and cover ships from 1503 to 1890. This an ex-library copy. Approx 200 pages ( photo section not paginated.) Colour pictorial card covers clear plastic laminated, crossed barcode lower front, small coding label spine base, library stamp top margin inside from cover, withdrawn stamp upper title page, coding label lower right corner, library stamp top margin first text page and lower edge inside back cover, no other library markings.
