The word ‘Enchiridion’ means manual or handbook in Latin. Epictetus was a Greek Philosopher who lived from about 55 A.D. to about 135 A.D. As a philosopher in ancient Rome, Epictetus strove to live a tranquil life of self-discipline and self-control. A lot of his life principles are contained in this 'handbook'. These simple yet insightful instructions have had a significant impact on untold generations of thinkers and sages throughout history. The Enchiridion has been recommended for developing mental strength and fortitude in the midst of difficult circumstances. This version includes two translations and is ideal for study and contemplation.
