This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. Biographie de l'auteur

Dr. Richard Wilhelm was a German sinologist and translated multiple philosophical works from China. He resided in China for 25 years, and fell in love with the country, giving the West one of the first views of Chinese literature. He has been credited as having the most influence on sharing the spirituality of Asia to the West, and was the founder of the China Institute.
