This is a monograph dedicated to the photography of Alejandra Figueroa and is the result of several years' work. It showcases a series of monochrome photographs of statues from the world's greatest museums that capture every nuance of sculpted flesh and highlight every detail of the human body. This collection is an invitation to a voyage through past and present, matter and flesh, sacred and profane, life and death. Figueroa's close-up images of sculpted bodies are following in a double tradition: that of great painters, in her framing and lighting that give every picture the illusion of life; and that of photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastiao Salgado. The book contains an afterword by Philippe Sollers.

About the book >.>.> Corpus is the first significant monograph dedicated to the photography of Alejandra Figueroa, showcasing the classical beauty inherent in her artistic expression and her deep commitment to the sensuality of forms. This collection is the result of years of work, featuring an assortment of black-and-white photographs of statues from some of the world's most renowned museums. Figueroa captures the intricacies of flesh, accentuating each detail of the human body with a striking precision. The series serves as an invitation to embark on a journey that traverses the boundaries of time and space, exploring themes of matter and flesh, the sacred and the profane, and the interplay of life and death. Figueroa's close-up images of sculpted bodies resonate with a dual legacy: her work reflects the mastery of great painters, evident in her skillful framing and lighting that breathe life into her photographs, while also paying homage to the iconic styles of celebrated photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastião Salgado.Figueroa's artistry is characterised by a dreamlike exploration of the body as a vessel of infinite desire and ageless eroticism. Her perspective is devoid of voyeurism, instead driven by an earnest desire to observe. This approach results in a balanced, serene, yet passionate portrayal that allows viewers to catch glimpses of ephemeral moments and the sensation of imagined embraces. Through this lens, Corpus presents an evocative meditation on the beauty and significance of the human form. N° de réf. du vendeur Batch-FM714-VG-14416
