Synopsis
This collection of fifty-seven papers, including seven review, articles, reflects our current state of knowledge on the subject of cepbeid variable stars. The volume is divided into four parts: fundamental parameters; evolution and pulsation theory; extragalactic cepheids and the period-luminosity relation; and population II cepbeids. It is suitable both for graduate students in stellar astronomy and stellar evolution, as well as providing an overview for professionals in the field.
