Cambridge First Certificate Writing is part of the Cambridge First Certificate Skills series – a new series of materials combining motivating, communicative practice of language skills with effective examination training. Cambridge First Certificate Writing combines creative practice of writing skills with systematic training for Paper 2 (composition) and the directed writing question of Paper 3. It contains varied activities which are designed to develop planning, checking and revising techniques, while providing key language practice. Activities within each unit lead up to an exam-type task which helps students to use newly acquired skills. Cambridge First Certificate Writing * begins with a Foundation unit to increase awareness of key aspects of writing * ends with a Review unit which draws together main techniques practised * sets out aims clearly at the start of each unit * provides helpful grammar and vocabulary input * contains useful 'checking and polishing' sections * includes exam and study tips throughout * is accompanied by a Teacher's Book providing practical teaching notes, ideas for further activities and a comprehensive key to the exercises.
