"One thing I like about the text...is its interactive nature. By doing the worksheets, students are more prepared in class."
"There is, in short, no comparison. The Le Roy text is, so far as I know, the only comparative politics text to take the quantitative approach as its central focus and animating principle. Many texts now offer Web sites at the end of a chapter,... but his is unique in its emphasis on the constant, hands-on calling up of and analysis of data relevant to the study of non-U.S. politics."
"I don't think there is anything comparable out there on the market so I'm extremely pleased that Comparative Politics exists. I think Prof. Le Roy is right when he states that the workbook helps students to "do" comparative politics and not just read about it."
"I would describe COMPARATIVE POLITICS as an innovative challenging text that enables professors to add a relevant data-analysis component to an introductory comparative politics course. It introduces students to both statistical analysis as well as substantive material by guiding them through series of comparative research questions. I know of no other text like this one."
"The writing style of the text overall is one of its best qualities. It is clearly and simply written, and largely free of professional jargon, and my students and I find it engaging. More so than in many other texts, including another MicroCase text I used several years ago, the personality of the author comes across as caring and committed to undergraduate learning."
