Joan Novelli, a former classroom teacher, reading specialist, and editor has 20 years experience in educational publishing. She has written numerous books for Scholastic including Week-by-Week Phonics Packets (co-author), Easy-to-Make Books That Target Specific Reading Needs (co-author), Shoe Box Learning Centers: Phonics, Teaching Reading With Favorite Cynthia Rylant Books, Building Foundations in Math: Shapes, and 40 Sensational Sight Word Games. Joan is co-owner of On the Ball Productions, a company that develops educational products for teachers and kids. She lives in Burlington, Vermont with her son.

Holly Grundon, a former art director for Scholastic Inc., has 20 years experience in the design field. She has designed more than a hundred books for Scholastic Teaching Resources, including the Shoe Box Learning Center series, The Big Book of Pocket Chart Poems: ABC’s and 123’s, and The Big Book of Alphabet Activities. She is also co-author of Week-by-Week Phonics Packets. Holly is co-owner of On the Ball Productions, a company that creates educational products for teachers and kids. She lives in Lincoln, Vermont with her husband and their children.
